This week I traveled all the way up to Berea, Kentucky. I love it here because the people love to make things and so do I…but I’ll get to that later. This whole place is full of artists and even more full of great art. Berea is such a small town, so it was really easy to find tons of great things being made.
On this trip I learned how they hand make cups, blankets, baskets, brooms, pots, and I even made my own cool craft when I got back home. What can you make? Are there artists or art where you live? Check out all my cool pictures!
Having fun here in the Bluegrass,

I found an awesome glass studio right here in Berea! Here they make great art out of glass.
To make art out of glass, they have to use a REALLY hot fire.
Once they get the glass really hot, they use tools to shape regular sand into glass art! Artists are so cool!
Tada! The studio work room is full of great glass art
And not just cups…many things can be made here out of glass
Even the garbage look beautiful!
I…must….be….very…still….there is so much glass around here!
I saw other crafts being made, like a blanket. My friend uses a machine called a LOOM to make a nice warm blanket.
Cups can also be made using pottery clay! This student uses a wheel to shape it into place!
Great work!
When I got home, I used some popsicle sticks, glue, buttons, and crayons to make a picture frame…now I need to get a picture!!
