Pen Pal!!!

How are you? I’m doing great! This week was so much fun, because I got to learn all about Firefighters. Firefighters help all of us to stay safe when there is trouble. They put out fires, help people who are hurt…and even rescue cats stuck up in trees. This week I went to a safety fair right in my own town. Here are some awesome pictures!

I got to see the same trucks that work in my neighborhood. There are many different types of firetrucks. Some firetrucks have really big ladders on them so they can save people who live or work in really tall buildings and houses. Some carry their own water tanks and hoses. Some trucks even carry tools to help people who get hurt in their cars.

I also saw a real firefighter uniform. They wear special clothes to keep them safe. They wear boots, pants, masks, and even a jacket that keeps the fire and water away from their skin.

Oh, and how can I forget that awesome helmet they wear to protect their heads

There is so much to learn about fire safety, but it is really important to know as much as we can to keep everyone safe. Lucky for me, I met Sparky the Fire Dog. He knows a lot about being safe and he helps kids and adults learn the right things to do when there is danger

My day at the safety fair was amazing…but my favorite part of the day was meeting a real firefighter and getting to sit in his truck!
